Wasn't sure about trying since southern Chesapeake has its share of Mexican eateries, but I would highly recommend. The food is fresh, the people are friendly and knowledgeable. After noticing our appreciation for heat, the server brought out a platter of Chiles Toreados and Onions and I fell in love. Worth the drive just for these.
The table side guacamole is both flavorful (they ask for your preferences as it is being prepared) and the portion is generous.
I must admit that we've become regulars and writing this review has me thinking I'll be heading there for lunch today!
I've ordered food from here many times through an outside delivery service and never had an issue. Food always good, in a timely manor, and good portions. Last time I ordered guacamole and it came in a huge container and was absolutely delicious. Ordered it again today and I received a tiny little 4oz cup. Not only is this horribly inconsistent, really??? $5 for this little cup. I'm
Best Mexican Food in Hampton Roads. Hot, fast, delicious and reasonably priced. My husband had cheesy enchiladas with green peppers and onions and it was amazing. I had a delicious taco salad topped off with some really tasty salsa. These folks know to cook and provide good service. Highly recommend you stop by the 3 Amigos Hickory and treat yourself to some really good food.
Stopped by for a work lunch.. the restaurant opened at 1100. It wasn't packed and we were seated right away. The waitress was really nice and ensured our party was well taken care of. Our drinks came out right away and the chips and salsa was on the table before we could even sit down. So that was good because everyone was really hungry.
I ordered the the beef taco salad. The toppings were fresh but the taste was really bland. I can describe it best as browned ground beef with no flavor. Needed salt, pepper and taco flavoring.. the bottom of the shell was watery. I would give them another try but I hope the food is better the next go around. The service was top notch.
Una coworker told me about this restaurant. Told me that was the best Hispanic food in the seven cities!!! Well she wasn't lying!
OMG we had the best food!!! I only regret not taking a picture and writing the name down!!!
I can tell you that I ate cactus for the first time!!! It all came in a large hot bowl with melted cheese, shrimp drowning, surrounded by beef and chicken strips made to be wrapped in tortilla. And don't forget the homemade salsa and avocado dip handmade in front of us. (Don't forget the tip!)
This spectacular dish was only $21 and we had leftovers!!!
My wife and I had a great time... The ambience was warm and to our liking!!!
